Earning your provisional (P) licence is an exciting milestone that brings you one step closer to driving independently. To give yourself the best chance of passing, it’s important to be well-prepared and confident on test day. From practice lessons to mock driving tests, this guide covers everything you need to know before booking your test—plus what to expect on the big day. Follow these steps to ensure you’re ready to hit the road with your P plates.

Before your
test day

Complete at least 1 lesson to work on skills such as reverse parking and 3 point turns
Complete a Trent On Road Test (TORT) which is a practice driving test around your test centre. We will take you on the routes and let you know if you would have passed or failed, as well as improvements that can be made
When the driving instructor knows you are ready for the driving test, we can book the test for you. Alternatively, you can book it yourself online or call the testing centre

On your
test day

We will pick you up from home
Do a warm up lesson to ease the nerves
Take you to the testing centre
Help you prepare your forms and logbook
You can use our car for the driving test
Help you through the start and feedback stage of the driving test
Drive you home
