Steps to become an instructor
Step 1
Obtain your Letter of Eligibility from Service NSW.
Step 2
Obtain a Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (this is the qualification that all NSW professional driving instructors must have). This can be done through Trent Education, our tailored Certificate IV program where you’ll be instructed by LTrent’s Master Driver Trainers.
Step 3
Start your own driving school!

Letter of Eligibility (LOE)
The LOE is a written confirmation from the RMS that you meet the various eligibility requirements to hold an instructor’s licence.
RMS Requirements
Held a full Australian drivers licence for at least 3 out of the last four years

Step 1

We welcome you to come to our office in North Ryde (or we can organise a phone interview if you’re not in Sydney). This stage will allow you to gain greater clarity and insight surrounding the role, and is an opportunity for us to connect and make sure it’s the right fit for both parties.

Approx length of course
