Learner drivers in NSW now have one official digital logbook option: the Roundtrip Learner Log Book app, developed by Transport for NSW.

This app allows you to conveniently record your supervised driving hours on your smartphone—no need to carry around the paper logbook.

Things to
remember:

Using your phone while driving is illegal – set up the app before you start the car.
You can still choose to use the paper logbook if you prefer.
If you’ve already started logging hours on paper, you can manually enter past drives into the app—but your supervising driver will need to verify them.
Your digital logbook must be submitted via the app at least 48 hours before your driving test.
Your supervising driver may also need to register with the app to verify drives.
Yes, the app supports the 3-for-1 bonus hours when driving with a licensed instructor (NSW only). You’ll be prompted to enter their details.

Does the digital logbook count the bonus 3 for 1 hours with a driving instructor?

Yes, you will have the option to enter a driving instructor’s details to gain the bonus hours. (NSW only)
